Meter Serial Number (Gas and Electric)

Meter serial numbers (also known as an 'MSN’) are unique numbers used to identify your gas or electricity meter.

The serial number is made up of a combination of numbers and letters and you'll be able to find it on the front of your physical gas and electricity meters. Hint: It’s usually engraved into the meter box itself or printed on a sticker attached to the meter box.

'I can’t get to my meter...' 😕
That’s okay. Try finding an energy bill addressed to the property instead. Most suppliers also show the Meter Serial Number (MSN) on the bill under the ‘Meter Readings' section.
